The most romantic art city of the world

Visit the dreaming waterways that mirror elegant palaces with Byzantine, Gothic and Renaissance facades, delicate little bridges, magnificent portals of patrician dwellings, bulb-shaped domes and golden mosaics. Walk along the calli and discover little green gardens behind ancient gates and allow yourself to be captured by the magic light and color of blown glass, created by master glass makers.

Discover this unique city, built between the coast and the open sea on an archipelago of 120 islands linked by 350 bridges. Discover almost 2000 years of history in which east and west were interwoven producing an exquisitely refined culture. The irreplaceable artistic heritage of the city is protected by UNESCO. Venice is all this and much more and offers you an unforgettable day that begins when you meet your local professional Guide who will introduce some of its treasures to you.

Walking through the narrow calli you will enter the ancient sixths (sestieri) through Santa Croce and San Polo where the salt flats of the ancient and powerful Republic of Venice are located, you will then proceed to the Rialto area, the first settlement of the village, with its historical fish and vegetable market, the Church of San Giacomo, the oldest in Venice, the famous Rialto bridge, the oldest of the four bridges crossing the spectacular Grand Canal.

Crossing this wonderful bridge you will reach the district of San Marco - the trade and cultural centre of the city. The heart of this district is the splendid and magnificent Piazza San Marco, the most elegant drawing room in Europe, surrounded by the most famous Venetian monuments: the splendid Byzantine Basilica with its four portals and wonderful golden mosaics, the interior of which is a must, the Renaissance Clock Tower and the fabulous Gothic Palazzo Ducale.

Behind the Palazzo Ducale, from the Ponte di Paglia you can admire the famous Bridge of Sighs, that used to be crossed by the condemned prisoners before entering prison, hence the name.

After the end of the guided tour, you can find dozens of typical or elegant restaurants in the area around the square where you can sample something delicious produced by the excellent Venetian cuisine.

In the afternoon you will have free time to enjoy a romantic tour in one of the famous gondolas, get to know the city better or dedicate some time to shopping and discovering the historically famous crafts of the lagoon islands: the Murano blown glass foundries and the Burano lace-makers.

Before leaving, you can pop into one of the famous historical cafés of Piazza San Marco and enjoy a truly delightful Venetian experience.
